Mystyn Mills, PhD candidate in the VALE lab, contributed to a proposal led by Professor Paul Laris, Cal State Long Beach, that will involved undergraduates at CSULB in field research for ecological restoration. It was just funded by the National Science Foundation. The project Tracking Land Change (TLC) - Working Ranch to Working Reserve supports restoration research in a working landscape, the central Sierra Nevada foothills in California where a working ranch has been purchased as a private nature research and cattle removed (see the photo). Mystyn will co-teach and assess the field class.
